My dad and I enjoyed some great cheese burgers, french fries and yummy sweet tea! The staff were friendly and they were done in no time at all. So if you're heading down 1179 just past the steep hollow S curve, I highly recommend you you pop into Franks Country Store for a great burger.
Frank's Country Store has great food with lots of food items to choose from. Fresh ingredients, large portions, and very tasty. They have burgers, brisket, ribs, sausage, smoked turkey, fried fish, chicken fried steak, salads and much more. Highly recommend.
A great little family-oriented place just far enough out of a major college town that you don't have to deal with a bunch of students. Note that this is a working gas station/convenience store and the kitchen is only open until 3:00 p.m. on Mon-Thurs and is closed on Sunday. Though you can buy snacks and gas when the kitchen is closed. They smoke their own BBQ and have tremendous burgers. Their hand made onion rings are probably in the top 5 I've ever had in Texas.
Great BBQ! Hubby likes to find hidden local jewels. The food was great and family friendly atmosphere inside. Tender meats and yummy sides. We tried the Brisket, Turkey, Pulled Pork and Ribs. Great prices. We'll be back! We want to try the breakfast next!
Normangee Tractor had Frank's Country Store cater our lunch and everything was spectacular! The porkchops, stuffed chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, peach cobbler was flavorful and delicious. Many employees said that it was the best meal we had ever had catered. The customer service was above and beyond. We would highly recommend this place for a single meal or full a full company!!

Pretty good burger and the onion rings are very good. Nice country store atmosphere with sports on tv. Hubby had the steak fingers and fries, with country toast. He enjoyed It saying "its good". Self serve on the soft drinks and iced tea. Overall good experience.
I've known Frank since I was a teenager and I have to say I'm shocked this place doesn't have more reviews. This is the best kept secret in town and the service here is phenomenal, he even went as far as to deliver a sandwich to a friend of mine since he couldn't move that well when Frank didn't have to do that at all. I highly recommend the catfish, delicious!!!
We ate here on the way home. Good stuff! We'll definitely return. The brisket is very moist, good flavor, better than J Cody's. The sides could be better, but it's not bad.
